A Leader Who Leads by Example

Michael has been with Maverick for a little over two years, and in that time, he’s become a cornerstone of his team’s success. His mornings start with planning sessions and check-ins with corporate, followed by fieldwork that lasts until dark, but you won’t hear him complain about long days. “I’ve worked harder jobs for a lot less money,” Michael said. “Here, I get to be outside, see sunsets, travel to new places, and meet different people. It’s a privilege to do what I do.”

That mindset has helped Michael’s team break multiple company revenue records this year, consistently setting the bar higher for themselves and the office.

Motivated by Success and His Team

For Michael, leadership is about more than numbers. It’s about accountability, trust, and doing right by his people. “I always wake up every day trying to prove that Maverick made the right choice in trusting me,” he explained. “There are good people who count on me to make the right choices so they can provide for their families. I just want to build everyone up, not just myself.”

It’s that commitment to teamwork that sets Michael apart. His crew of six operates like a family, often spending time together outside of work, whether it’s watching UFC fights, planning a holiday get together, or just enjoying the camaraderie that makes the job worthwhile.

“A lot of us don’t have family nearby,” Michael said. “So, we made our own.”

What Makes Maverick Different

Having worked in sales for years, from insurance to phones to windows, Michael says Maverick’s culture and structure stand out from anything he’s experienced before. “Maverick is way more generous with compensation and, more importantly, transparent,” he said. “At my old job, you’d send in a lead and never know what happened to it. Here, I can check what happened with every lead whether it was demoed or turned into a sale. That kind of openness builds trust.” Transparency, accountability, and communication are values Maverick takes pride in, and it’s clear Michael embodies all three.

Beyond the Job

When he’s not leading his team, Michael’s passions take him underwater… literally. He’s a certified professional scuba diver who once lived in Honduras, assisting with scuba classes and leading underwater tours before the pandemic changed the tourism industry. “I’ve swam with whales, sharks, turtles, and rays,” he said. “It was an incredible experience.”

Outside of adventure, he loves to read, study history, and keep learning, traits that reflect the curiosity and drive he brings to work every day. His coworkers describe him in three words: funny, encouraging, and knowledgeable , and after talking with him, we couldn’t agree more.

A Well Earned Recognition

When Michael found out he’d been named Employee of the Month, his first reaction was disbelief. “I was shocked. I had to verify it was real,” he laughed. “But it means a lot. It’s validation that all the hard work and planning is paying off.”

As part of the recognition, Michael received a bonus on his next paycheck, but more importantly, he earned the appreciation and respect of everyone at Maverick Windows.

“Michael represents exactly what we stand for, hard work, teamwork, and genuine leadership,” said Marketing Coordinator Joel Sauceda.

Looking Ahead

As for what’s next, Michael’s goals are clear: “Keep the income growing, keep hiring, and keep helping my team reach the same level of success,” he said.
